Sri Lanka Visa for UAE Residents
Most visitors to Sri Lanka need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) applied for online before departure. The fee, validity and eligibility depend on your passport nationality, and the government has changed fees and waivers several times, so check the official Sri Lanka ETA portal for your passport. Being a UAE resident does not by itself change the rule; your passport does. You will normally need a passport valid for at least 6 months, a return ticket and proof of accommodation. Budget and Money
The Sri Lankan Rupee trades at roughly LKR 75 to 85 per AED 1, so check the day's rate. Outside your package, budget about AED 100 to 200 per person per day for meals, entry tickets and shopping. Cards are accepted in hotels and larger restaurants; carry cash for markets, tuk-tuks and small eateries. Tap water is not recommended for drinking.
Do UAE residents need a visa for Sri Lanka?
Most passports need an ETA, applied for online before travel. The requirement depends on your passport, not your UAE residence, and fees or waivers change, so confirm on the official portal. Carry your return ticket, hotel booking and a passport valid for at least 6 months.
What is the best time to visit Sri Lanka from Dubai?
The southwest coast and hill country are best from December to March, with dry weather and calm seas. April is warm and festive but busy. May to September is monsoon on the southwest, though the east coast is at its best. For the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Bentota route, December to March is the most reliable window, and UAE winter holidays fall right in it.
How many days is enough for Sri Lanka?
