Yes, you can apply for a USA B1/B2 visitor visa from Dubai on a UAE visit visa if your passport is valid and you can attend the US Consulate General in Dubai. Your UAE visit status does not guarantee approval; the consulate assesses home ties, UAE funds and purpose, so a residence visa makes the Dubai file stronger.
Travel insurance is not mandatory for a USA B1/B2 visitor visa from Dubai, but it is strongly recommended because US medical care is extremely expensive without cover. Policies bought in Dubai should cover the entire US stay. Mapshore in Dubai advises insurance for every US traveller to avoid hospital bills and show preparedness at your Dubai interview.
USA B1/B2 timing from Dubai is driven by the interview wait at the US Consulate General Dubai, which varies by season and can be weeks to months, plus a few days for passport return. From Dubai the USA B1/B2 fee is USD 185 per applicant, unchanged since May 2023, plus a USD 250 visa integrity fee at issuance under the 2025 One Big Beautiful Bill Act where collected in the UAE. The USD 185 remains non refundable even if the US consulate in Dubai refuses the visa, so budget for both fees before booking travel from Dubai.
From Dubai you need a passport valid for six months beyond your US stay, a completed DS-160 confirmation page, appointment confirmation, US specification photo, UAE residence or visit visa and Emirates ID, six months of UAE bank statements, employment proof in Dubai and evidence of ties that show you will return to the UAE after visiting the USA.
From the UAE a USA B1/B2 visa may be valid up to ten years, but the border officer decides the permitted stay per visit, usually up to six months on your I-94. Visa validity and authorised stay differ. Check your I-94 after entry from Dubai and do not overstay, as violations harm future US visas from the UAE.
